Coal & Coke

Coal

Coal is a combustible, sedimentary, organic rock, which is composed mainly of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Coal is a fossil fuel and is far more plentiful than oil or gas, with coal reserves worldwide. Not only does coal provide electricity, it is also an essential fuel for steel and cement production, and other industrial activities.

We are currently dealing only in various grades of Anthracite Coal. These are procured both indigenously and imported depending upon the quality and specifications requested.

Coke

Coke is a grey, hard, and porous fuel with a high carbon content and few impurities, made by heating coal or oil in the absence of air—a destructive distillation process. It is an important industrial product, used mainly in iron ore smelting.

These Are The Following Catagories:

Anthracite Coal of various Grades

Anthracite Coal is a hard, compact variety of mineral coal that has a high luster. Anthracite ignites with difficulty and burns with a short, blue, and smokeless flame. It has the highest carbon count, the fewest impurities, and the highest calorific content of all types of coals, which also include bituminous coal and lignite. It is mostly used for chemical and metallurgical purposes. Crushed anthracite makes an excellent medium density filtration media and is also used for water filtration process.

Anthracite coal is categorized into three types of grades. These are (i) semi-anthracite or standard grade, (ii) anthracite or high grade, and (iii) meta-anthracite or ultra-high grade. Semi-anthracite grade has a carbon content of 86 % to 92 % and a volatile matter (VM) content in the range of 8 % to 14 %.

Coke such as Lam Coke

Low Ash Metallurgical Coke (LAM Coke/MET Coke) is solid carbonaceous material obtained from destructive distillation of low ash, low sulphur Bituminous coal. Coke is formed when the coal is heated in the absence of air.

Coke is used as a fueland reducing agent is smelting iron ore in blast furnace. Since, it is one of the basic raw materials used to produce pig iron, which in turn is used to manufacture steel. This is the prime reason behind the integral steel plants having their own LAM coke manufacturing plant on premises.

Coke such as Nut Coke

Nut coke is low ash metallurgical coke of smaller grain size. It is used in smelters and in the production of ferro alloys. Nut coke is used in blast furnaces to increase productivity and achieve cost savings. This Coke is used as a fuel and as a reducing agent in smelting iron ore in a blast furnace. The carbon monoxide produced by its combustion reduces iron oxide (hematite) in the production of the iron product. Coke is commonly used as fuel for blacksmithing.

Coke such as Pearl Coke

The pearl coke we supply is made form quality natural coal and is very rigid in nature. It is effective in its performance and is commonly used in industries such as ferro alloys, foundry works, non ferrous foundry, etc. Pearl Coke have fixed carbon in high percentage. This low ash coke is highly used in Ferro Alloys, Blast Furnaces, Foundry works, Steel Industries and Non Ferrous foundries. The typical size of product is 5 mm to 30 mm.
